THE PIG-in the wall is a homely and characterful 12-room deli restaurant with rooms, an oasis of calm within the bustling city of Southampton.
Housed in the heart of the old town and nestled into the medieval Port Wall itself, a stay at THE PIG-in the wall offers laid-back comfort and a haven away from the hustle and bustle.

Our historic townhouse, tucked neatly away as a cosy city hideaway, has all the trappings required of a short business stay combined with an unflustered homely charm – setting it apart from the usual corporate hotel scene.
Aside from its rich heritage, one of THE PIG-in the wall’s greatest features is its central location. It is a stone’s throw away from some of the city’s best benefits including a growing collection of meeting spaces and conference venues, West Quay shopping centre, Oxford Street’s fantastic selection of independent restaurants and eateries, and easy access to main transport links from Southampton’s Airport and Central Train Station.

Our 12 unique rooms are full of quirks, each designed to retain their original character. These range from a smaller Snug through to our spacious Suites, complete with free standing roll top baths and monsoon showers. Regardless of the room you settle on, we don’t shirk on quality. you’ll find tactile velvets, thick woollen rugs, and woven fabrics paired with natural and earthy colours.
A personal larder will be stocked full of sweet and savoury vintage treats for you to pick from if you get peckish. Your stay includes:

Our deli counter is just the ticket when it comes to a grab and go lunch or stay and graze supper. With a laid back and generous approach to the food and drinks served, our deli-dining experience is sure to help you sink into a contented evening of rest and relaxation after a busy day of work.
You’ll be seated in an open plan lounge amongst rustic unvarnished wood tables and chairs, the warm glow from a roaring log burner, plush sofa seating, and oodles of greenery.
We love simple, honest, homegrown and carefully created dishes that satisfy the soul. Our seasonal menus present the best of local producers on the Isle of Wight and in Hampshire and Dorset, including award winning cheese and quality cuts of meat. If you prefer to sample something from our drinks selection, we offer a variety of pale ales from Southampton’s best independent breweries, Unity Brewing, and an expertly curated wine selection from The Wine Barn and Hambledon Vineyard.
