The Restaurant at THE PIG-at Harlyn Bay
We’ve got an obsessive commitment to home-grown and local produce: simple food done well
Relaxed eating in the heart of the house...
It's all about the Kitchen Garden; enclosed by 3 sides of Cornish slate wall dating back to 1831, with a Well House in the centre and an Alitex Greenhouse, the Kitchen Garden is flourishing with spinach, french beans, runner beans, salad onions, peas, beetroot, herbs and fresh salad that are nearly ready for Andy and the Kitchen Garden team to harvest.
Adam, our Head Chef at THE PIG-at Harlyn Bay, and his brigade work hand in hand with the Kitchen Gardeners, to create our 25-mile menu - daily garden pickings and produce from local farmers, small producers and fisherman who supply anything that we cannot grow, produce or catch ourselves.
British Kitchen Garden food, true to the micro seasons and with a real focus on simple and fresh flavours.
Our commitment to a 25-mile menu not only supports our local suppliers, but means we can be 100% honest on the provenance of our ingredients.
Take a look at our sample menus to get a feel for what we may be dishing up. Please note these are subject to change.
Our restaurant is open daily
Lunch from 12pm - 3.45pm
Dinner from 6pm - 9.45pm (for Residents only initially, due to current physical distancing capacity limitations)
When you are with us please just ask the team if you have any questions about the menu, allergies or your dietary requirements.
If you would fancy a drink in the bar before eating, just arrive around 30 minutes before your table booking. However please be aware that due to physical distancing we are operating with a reduced number of tables and seating areas so availability will be limited, and will be on a first come first served basis.
Why not try The Lobster Shed too?
Outdoor eating and drinking, salty ocean air and simple but seriously tasty local food, head straight from the surf to your table and tuck into the daily catch.
Things to know before visiting
The availability shown online is live and always up-to-date. If you can’t find the date you’re after, please email firstname.lastname@example.org so we can add you to our waiting list.
However, it’s worth checking out our other properties as we may have rooms or tables available elsewhere.
Children are more than welcome at THE PIG-at Harlyn Bay, both in the restaurant and to stay in our inter-connecting rooms. Please note a selection of rooms can accommodate cots and small beds.
We’ll never tell you what to wear. Our restaurants are informal places, so come in whatever makes you happy and comfortable.
You can check in from 4pm at all of our properties, however, you’re more than welcome to arrive earlier to drop off your luggage and explore the gardens. Due to current physical distancing guidelines, we are limiting capacity in the main hotel, so you might not be able to make the most of the lounges until you have checked in. The team will be on hand to help you when you arrive.
Check out is by 11am. We ask that you leave your room by this time, but please enjoy the surroundings all day. We can’t guarantee an early check-in or late check-out, but stick around and let us know your plans and we will try our best on the day.
Unless we are running a special deal and it is stated within the terms, all of our rates are on a room only basis so are inclusive of VAT only.
Breakfast will be served at guests’ tables in the restaurant, as sadly our much-loved PIG grazing breakfast tables are not viable with current guidelines. All of the goodies that were on the Breakfast table will now be available, along with our hot dishes on our new Breakfast menus. Prices range from £10-£17.
We are no longer accepting payments made in cash, we will only be accepting card payments at all hotels.
We no longer accept American Express payments.
Breakfast is available for residents from daily 7.30-10.30am.
We serve Lunch in the Restaurant from 12-3.45pm daily and Dinner, for residents only from 6.00-9.45pm daily. We’re not currently taking restaurant reservations for dinner, unless you are staying with us, due to physical distancing and capacity restrictions.
You can also book at The Lobster Shed, our outdoor dining terrace. Bookable all day between 12pm-9pm - open to all.
