Made for slowing down
There's a particular kind of good that comes from being cold outside and warm inside on the same day. THE PIGs are made for exactly that this winter - crisp morning walks that end with pink cheeks and a hot drink, Christmas markets in the nearby towns and villages, and evenings that call for a fire, a full plate and no plans to go anywhere else.
Whatever brings you to us this winter - a quiet December escape, a proper Christmas Day feast, or seeing in the New Year with a bang - there's a table waiting.
From plot to plate this season
The garden in winter
As the beds rest for the season, they don't go quiet entirely. Roots, brassicas and the last of the season's stores keep coming, and our gardeners are just as busy putting things by, tending what's left and planning for spring - even in the quieter months, the garden is still very much at work.
What's on the plate
Winter is proper cold-weather eating - roots and brassicas from the garden, game as it comes into season, slow braises and the kind of dishes that need a whole afternoon and reward the wait. Our chefs let whatever's been grown, stored or foraged shape the menu, whether that's a Sunday roast, a long dinner by candlelight, or something hot to come back to after a walk.
Before the big day
You don't need to wait for the 25th December to stay at ours! Between now and Christmas, this is one of our favourite times to welcome guests - log fires, quieter houses, Christmas markets in the towns and villages nearby, and the sort of long walks that are all the better for ending somewhere warm.
Book any night through November and December and settle into the season at your own pace.
Experience the whole hog
Dinner, bed and a proper breakfast, all wrapped up together - our Veg & Bed offer runs at two of our coastal-adjacent PIGs, THE PIG-at Combe in Devon and THE PIG-at Harlyn Bay in Cornwall. Both sit within easy reach of the water - blustery clifftop walks, quiet winter beaches and the kind of sea air that makes coming back in for dinner feel especially good. Arrive, eat well, sleep well, and wake up to breakfast before you've had to think about it. Available until 23rd December.

There's a special kind of magic to waking up somewhere else on Christmas morning. Stockings by the fire, a slow start with no washing up to think about, and the whole day mapped out for you - a walk to work up an appetite, then a proper three-course Christmas lunch, starting with Piggy Bits and a welcome tipple, right through to coffee and a mince pie.
Stay with us over the festive period and the big day comes as part of your visit - dressed-up rooms, twinkling lights in every corner, and the kind of atmosphere that only comes from a house full of people who've come to properly celebrate together.

Ring in the new year with us
See in the start of 2027 with a two-night stay at your favourite PIG! Wake up on the first day of the brand new year with nowhere to rush off to - just a good breakfast, a walk to clear the head, and the rest of the year ahead of you.
Arrive on 30th or 31st December, and you'll get to tuck into a three-course New Year’s Eve dinner, followed by a live piper to really celebrate THE PIG way!
