THE PIG-at Combe is our secluded, mellow, honey-coloured Elizabethan Gem, located in the beautiful Otter Valley. The Kitchen Garden really does play a huge role at THE PIG-at Combe, we are devoted to home-grown and local produce. It's all about simple food done well. Located 17 miles away is Exmouth Mussels. From their base in Exmouth docks, they supply us with sustainably farmed award-winning shellfish from the sparkling waters of the River Exe. Their unique and innovative process involves dredging and using a self-fluidising elevator, the shellfish are teased from their beds without impacting the stone layers beneath. The shellfish provided by Exmouth Mussels can be enjoyed by our guests knowing they are organic products that are being sustainably farmed by people with an equal passion for food and the environment.
Only 11 miles away from THE PIG-at COMBE is Haye Farm, bought in 2014 by Harry and Emily. The pair had plans to build organic food systems and have since developed a large vegetable garden, as well as soft fruit and herb patches. The farmland grounds are home to a herd of Ruby Red cattle, a mix of pigs, a flock of sheep, and 650 hens and ducks with free roam!
Located just 9 miles away is Otter Brewery, yay! In the heart of the Devonshire Blackdown Hills, the family run business has been operating since 1990. The family started brewing its beer from a farmhouse location and have been developing the craft of the award-winning beers ever since. The brewery pride themselves on having the best quality ingredients and ensuring their processes are environmentally friendly. The values of the brewery closely match our commitment to being sustainable.
