Spend a day at your favourite PIG in September exploring our Kitchen Gardens and tucking into a light 25-mile menu lunch in support of the National Garden Scheme
Rooted in some of the most stunning parts of the English countryside are the eight PIGs, dotted along the south of the UK from Kent to Cornwall. At heart, THE PIGs are restaurants with rooms where everything starts with the Kitchen Garden. Our Kitchen Gardeners and Chefs work hand-in-hand to create menus brimful with the freshest seasonal flavours.
What we can’t grow ourselves we source from our local heroes, the best farmers, fishermen and foragers we know, creating the foundation of THE PIG’s 25 mile menu. Flavoursome, simple dishes made with our own produce and the best local ingredients is what we love – and the driving force behind our menus is the creative relationship between the Kitchen Gardeners and Chefs. It’s thanks to our ever-growing team of Gardeners (32 strong and counting) that our Kitchen Gardens are as gloriously abundant as they are…
So this September, we're teaming up with the National Garden Scheme to honour their amazing work and welcome you into our patch! Each PIG will be opening their garden gates for you and taking you on a tour, where you will hear all about how our team's work year round to tend to and care for our gardens, and the seasonal changes that the gardens go through.
You will explore our Greenhouses and take a peek in our polytunnels, and learn about the traditional practices that our Kitchen Gardeners and Chefs use to make the most out of our produce throughout the year. After wandering the gardens you will have worked up an appetite, so to round off your time, our teams will make sure you are fed and watered with garden-inspired tipples and local nibbles.
Each event will have its own unique twist, depending on the PIG you choose to visit, with tickets starting from just £25 per person. See below on how to book your spot!

Here at THE PIG’s, we are all about giving back to our local community and the patch we call home, so when our friends from The National Garden Scheme wanted to partner up to offer bespoke Kitchen Garden gatherings, we just had to get on board.
The National Garden Scheme is all about giving the local community unique access to over 3,500 exceptional private gardens in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands, to raise money for charities and organisations. In addition, they open breath taking gardens to support everyone’s physical and mental health – spending some time outdoors in the midst of our produce always makes us feel better that’s for sure!
Through admission fees, plus the many teas and cakes they sell, they raise impressive amounts of money for nursing and health charities. So far, they have managed to donate over £67million and in 2022, they made an annual donation of £3.11million. Some of their core charities and organisation include Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK and The Queen’s Nursing Institute.
