As we get even closer to Christmas Day, a warming glass of mulled cider is just the thing you need to get you in the festive spirit! With staying in the new going out, the bar team at THE PIG, Brockenhurst have shared their delicious, mulled cider recipe, full of Christmassy spice, it’s super simple to make at home, so put on the Christmas playlist and give it a go at home!
What you’ll need:
- 2 litres of scrumpy style cider
- 7-8 cloves
- 5-6 star anise
- Grated nutmeg
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 300ml apple juice (cloudy pressed preferred)
- 5 slices of orange
- 6-7 tablespoons caster sugar
- 280ml English Cider Brandy or Calvados
What to do:
Pour the cider into a large pan on a low heat and let it warm through for a few minutes.
Add all the spices and juices and bring it up to boil. Once boiling, turn down to a simmer for a few minutes with the added sugar and cider brandy.
