Bring the bar home for National Tree Week with Sapling

From 25th November–3rd December, THE PIGs and Sapling Spirits are teaming up for National Tree Week in the best way we know how: with plenty of feasting and raising a perfectly mixed glass or two! But the celebration of National Tree Week doesn't stop here... we will be planting a nuttery with Sapling at THE PIG-near Bath in early spring 2024!

To get in the spirit of planting, sipping, feasting, and just having some fun, Sapling have shared with us two cocktails for you to try at home: The Nuttery and Sapling Spiced Mule!

The Nuttery

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Sapling Gin
  • 20ml Homemade chestnut syrup*
  • 15ml Lemon juice
  • 40ml Pear juice
  • Tonic

Method:

Shake the first four ingredients together and fine strain into a Highball glass filled with cubed ice. Top with tonic and finish with a garnish of dehydrated lemon peel. It’s the delicious taste of autumn in a drink!  

*To make the chestnut syrup, bring ½ cup brown sugar, ½ cup roasted chestnuts and half a cinnamon stick to a simmer together in a pan on a medium heat. Once the sugar has dissolved, leave the mixture to infuse for 30 minutes. Strain the syrup into a bottle of your choice.

Sapling Spiced Mule

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Sapling Vodka
  • 20ml Pumpkin syrup
  • 15ml Lemon juice
  • Ginger beer

Method:

Build all the ingredients into a Highball glass filled with cubed ice. Top with lashings of ginger beer and finish with a garnish of crispy pumpkin chips (thinly cut strips of pumpkin flesh or skins, brushed with a little oil and roasted in the oven at 200°C for 30-40 minutes). We’ll drink to that!
