Situated in prime position at the foot of the slopes of Courchevel Moriond (1650), Portetta Hotel and Lofts is the perfect base for the ultimate ski experience. Our friend, Chef Angela Hartnett has taken to the slopes of Courchevel with Cucina Angelina, the Italian-influenced restaurant at Portetta, and you can tuck into some seriously delicious Italian dishes in this mountain hotspot! It is the perfect place to enjoy good food, good company and good wine and is the ideal après-ski retreat.
For somewhere to enjoy a tipple or something to eat, chill and soak in the mountain air on the largest terrace in Courchevel Moriond. The outdoor terrace bar Fire & Ice is right at the bottom of the main piste and has a huge log burning fire, flaming torches, wood fired pizza oven, ice shots, fur snugs and heated bar seating.
Skiing
Portetta is right on the ski slopes of Courchevel 1650, during your stay you can ski or snowboard right down to the terrace, remove your skis and within two steps be sitting down and enjoying an Italian style hot chocolate in the sun.
Portetta is located in between the top two ski schools in Courchevel, the team at Portetta work closely with both schools and they offer plenty of different options such as private lessons and group lessons – the ski school is right next door allowing you to watch your loved ones learn to ski!There is plenty to do if skiing isn’t your thing!
Portetta Spa – A space to relax and unwind with a Hammam, Sauna, Gym, Treatment rooms and a relaxation zone.
Aquamotion – A unique swimming complex with an indoor, outdoor and kids pools, a climbing wall and indoor surfwave.
Sledging- Test one of the night sledge descents. Once the ski area has closed, Courchevel ski slopes become a huge playground for sledges with several possible routes: Altiport to Courchevel 1550 has 4 kms of descent, 450 metres of vertical drop and takes around 45 minute.
Helicopter tours – If you fancy seeing Courchevel from the sky, there are a range of helicopter tours to take! These amazing helicopter rides allow you to get up close with inaccessible mountain tops and take in stunning views.
Smoked & Uncut - A series of live sessions are held on Tuesdays at Fire & Ice and on Thursdays in the Lounge or Bar, both at Portetta hotel (Moriond), during the ski season, brought to you by the team behind the Smoked & Uncut series of food and music festivals held at Lime Wood & THE PIG in the UK. Tuck into wood-fired pizza and ice shots during Happy Hour, daily at Portetta between 4.30pm-7pm.
Hiking and snowshoeing - If skiing isn’t your thing or you fancy a break from skiing, hiking is a great way to explore. There are many walks you can take, whether you enjoy an occasional stroll or are a hardcore hiker, there are snowshoeing itineraries for all abilities: categorised from green to black just like ski runs!
Piste-Basher Driving - For something completely different over lunch, climb on board one of these enormous machines and once you get the explanations from the professional guide, it’s all yours to drive.
