Peace, quiet and countryside
It’s the perfect time to escape to Somerset

Winter at THE PIG‑near Bath is all about frost‑kissed fields, quiet country lanes and long rambles over rolling Somerset hills. With crisp air, crowd‑free Bath and hearty, fire‑side dishes waiting when you wander back, it’s the perfect time to slow the pace and soak up our patch of the Mendips.

4 reasons to head to our patch this season
Forget traffic jams and packed restaurants. In winter, Somerset returns to its peaceful roots - perfect for spontaneous adventures.

Wind down and dig in
This is the time of year to turn in for a long soak in a roll-top bath, sink into a deep, restful night’s sleep and wake up gently with a cup of something warm in your hands, looking out to the Fallow Deer in our surrounding misty fields.
That’s why we’re relaxing the price of our treatments when you sleepover at ours, Sunday–Thursday, in early 2026 – with brekkie already wrapped up in the price of the stay, for a little more reason to start your year, the PIG way.
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, our midweek Chef’s Picks set menu is brimming with fresh pickings this month to warm you from the inside out.
So wind down or dig in?
(or why not choose both?)
