Christmas Cracker Workshop and Dinner at THE PIG-in the South Downs
THE PIG-in the South Downs | Tuesday 24 November 2026Settle into the Garden Room with a warming glass of mulled wine before getting stuck into making your own set of festive Christmas crackers, using seasonal foliage, dried botanicals, orange slices, cinnamon sticks and other sustainable festive bits and bobs. Once you’ve finished crafting, head into the restaurant for a three-course festive supper, rounding off a properly Christmassy evening.

You’ll be warmly welcomed into our Garden Room with a glass of mulled wine before getting into the festive spirit with a little Christmas crafting.
We’ll be joined by our friends at The Crafty Hen, who’ll get you making your very own Christmas crackers from a lovely mix of seasonal bits and bobs - think dried foliage, festive sprigs, orange slices, cinnamon sticks and wooden decorations. Add a splash of colour with paint pens and twine. You’ll make around six crackers to take home and pop on your Christmas table.
The Crafty Hen will provide paper hats and mini chocolates to pop inside your crackers. You’re also welcome to bring your own little treats to add a personal touch and make your crackers extra special for your celebration!
Just bear in mind that the cracker barrel is approximately 9.5cm long and 5cm in diameter, so make sure your goodies fit.
Halfway through the workshop, we’ll pour you a glass of English fizz to enjoy as you get stuck into making your very own Christmas crackers. With plenty of festive touches and a little creative flair, you’ll have everything you need to make something special for your Christmas table.
Once your crackers are finished and you’re feeling suitably festive, we’ll head into the restaurant, where you can relax and settle in for a delicious three-course festive supper. You’ll be seated with the friends or family you booked with, making it the perfect opportunity to enjoy a lovely evening together, surrounded by good food, great company and a little Christmas magic.
Any additional drinks or wine ordered with dinner can be settled at the end of your meal.

The Crafty Hen are our friends in the world of crafty experiences, bringing people together to have a go, get creative and make something lovely to take home.
For this workshop, they’ll guide you through making your own set of eco-friendly Christmas crackers, sharing plenty of tips and tricks along the way. You’ll be able to get stuck into a lovely mix of seasonal materials, from dried foliage and festive sprigs to orange slices, cinnamon sticks and wooden decorations, before adding your own finishing touches with colourful twine and paint pens.
