Closer to nature but with all the comforts of a bedroom in the Main House – these bespoke romantic wagons have been designed using traditional craft methods but then kitted out with all the mod-cons! Our 4 Garden Wagons are tucked away in the walled Kitchen Garden with views out across the gardens and fields. Full of rustic reclaimed wood and texture, cosy furnishings and each with its own log burner and sofa to snuggle up on, these Wagons have king-sized beds and en suite bathrooms with monsoon showers, freestanding baths and bags of space for two. They also have their own private terraces and private outdoor showers for alfresco showering. These Wagons are made for adventurous escapes for two and being just a short stroll from the house means you can easily nip between the house and your secluded garden retreat (we provide umbrellas on the soggier days). There is loads of storage, but we would suggest you pack soft as hard cases will be a squeeze.

Close to nature, situated at the bottom of the drive from the main house in a private garden, our five Stream Wagons are as you might have guessed, tucked away next to a ‘babbling brook’, curiously named the River Gitt, which runs through the village on its way to the Otter valley. We have learnt a thing or two since creating our first Huts and Wagons 12 years ago, these latest incarnations are better fitted out than most hotel bedrooms whilst still stylishly designed using reclaimed timber, with a double bed, an en-suite bathroom, a wood burning stove and your own sun soaked terrace. It’s in the bathing department these really come into their own with double ended baths and monsoon showers, indoors and outside! We honestly don’t believe there are huts like these anywhere in the world. Please note the Wagons are 3/4 of a mile from the main house, where our PIG Landrover can pick you up or drop you off between locations. The perfect adult's only getaway.

Old Thatch Cottage sits within the original walled garden and is accessed directly from the garden. Full of character and slightly higgledy piggledy, it has original stone flagged floors downstairs, big original large fireplace with log burner in the double aspect sitting room, and a generous sized kitchen with an aga. Two staircases lead up to a large master bedroom with four poster bed and en suite bathroom with roll top bath and shower, and a second bedroom which again can be either a twin or double and has an en suite bathroom with shower. Great for groups or an idyllic countryside escape for two. The cottages are about 3/4 mile away from the hotel - a short beautiful walk up a private drive or we can collect you in the PIG landrover.

Stroll past the bustle of the restaurant and the Kitchen Garden and out along the boardwalk, guiding you through sleepy willow trees and past our Hop Pickers’ Huts – and you will find our Stream Wagons tucked away in front of a quietly flowing stream. These perfectly private, stylish and spacious Stream Wagons are designed using reclaimed timber and each have a double bed, an en-suite bathroom and a wood burning stove inside – as well as your own peaceful outdoor terrace. The real showstopper? Choose between your own double ended baths and monsoon showers – indoors and outdoors! So sink down into the tub inside the cosy warmth of the wagon, or wake up outside with a refreshing power shower… We honestly don’t believe there are huts like these anywhere in the world.
