A proper breakfast, tucked inside the city walls
Mornings at THE PIG-in the wall start quietly. The fire's lit and the coffee's on, and the Grazing Table fills up with pastries, fresh juices, Dorset yogurts and seasonal fruit while the Old Town outside is still rubbing its eyes.
We're the smallest in our litter, all rustic tables, low sofas and cosy corners. It feels less like a hotel breakfast room and more like being let into somewhere the rest of the city hasn't discovered yet.
Help yourself for as long as you like and add a Piggy Pan if you're properly hungry. By the time you've finished your second coffee the city will be up and about. The walls, the waterfront and the shops of Westquay are all an easy potter from the front door whenever you're ready to go.
Breakfast is for everyone, whether you're staying with us or just passing through the city. We're only small, so we do ask that you book a table ahead, and that way there's always a seat by the fire waiting for you.
A good morning for...
Whatever the reason for popping in, you'll leave properly fed with the whole Old Town on your doorstep. Step out of the front door and you're straight onto the old city walls. Walk them round to the Bargate, pop into the Tudor House and Garden, or follow the water to Mayflower Park for views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight.

Sailing from Southampton? The docks are right on our doorstep, so there's time for a slow breakfast by the fire before you join the queue. It's far nicer than setting off hungry, and much less faff than hunting for somewhere near the terminal.
...A proper catch-up Meet at nine, look up at eleven
Grab a sofa by the fire, order another pot of tea and put the world to rights. Nobody's watching the clock here, least of all us, so stay as long as the conversation keeps going.
...Saturday, before the shops Fuel up for a proper mooch
Westquay and the independents of the Old Town are a short stroll away. Nobody ever regretted tackling the shops on the back of a Piggy Pan.
...Just because No occasion needed
A grey Tuesday, a brolly by the door and a seat by the fire are reason enough on their own, especially with a second pot of coffee on the way.
You'll head out properly fed, whatever brings you in
We're one of the few spots in the city centre with a real fire, and on a chilly morning it's the best seat in the house. Sink into a sofa, wrap your hands round a cuppa and watch the Old Town wake up.
Help yourself from our Grazing Table
A generous spread is laid out and ready for you. There are warm croissants and cinnamon buns, fresh juices, and Dorset yogurts with dollops of homemade seasonal compote. You'll also find Coastal Cheddar and sliced ham, plus toast and preserves for the traditionalists.
It's £15 with a pot of tea or coffee, so settle in and help yourself to as much or as little as you fancy. We also offer a Piglet's Grazing Table for £5 - little ones are very welcome.
Feeling hungry? Add a Piggy Pan
You won't find a Piggy Pan at any other PIG. Go classic with bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, potatoes and a baked egg. Keep it veggie with halloumi, vegan sausage and kale. Or treat yourself to oak smoked chalk stream trout with scrambled hen's eggs.
Every pan is £20 and comes with the Grazing Table, so you get the best of both.
The Kitchen Garden comes to us
We don't have a Kitchen Garden in the city, so ours comes to us. Every day, produce arrives from THE PIG in the New Forest, twenty minutes down the road. It sits alongside the best of what our Hampshire, Dorset and Isle of Wight suppliers have to offer. And if you like the honey, a jar of THE PIG's own is £14 to take home.
