With sea air in our lungs and sunshine (hopefully) overhead, we’re embracing the start of the summer season at THE PIG-on the beach with a seaside adventure exploring our corner of the Dorset coastline, followed by some fresh, comforting feasting at our house, looking out to Old Harry Rocks!

We can’t think of a better, more PIG way to celebrate the new season, or give you the best seats in the seats in the house to the patch we call home, than by inviting you to join us for a thrilling RIB adventure along the Jurassic Coast, skimming past Old Harry Rocks and cruising towards The Dancing Ledge!

This half-day experience is all about fresh air, big views and classic PIG feasting – after a morning cruising on the water, you’ll finish back on dry land to tuck into freshly baked sharing pizzas with plentiful sides, great pours of wine and even better company.

Join us for a fantastic coastal adventure with our friends at Studland Watersports, as we head out on a high-speed RIB ride along the Jurassic Coast, followed by a relaxed, feasting lunch from our outdoor Garden Oven at THE PIG-on the beach.

You’ll arrive at our house in the morning, where we’ll warmly welcome you in with a hot drink, a freshly baked pastry and a friendly introduction with your fellow guests, before we make our way down to Middle Beach, ready to board the RIB.

Setting off from Old Harry Rocks, you’ll cruise along the spectacular coastline to The Dancing Ledge and back, soaking up breath-taking views and discovering this historic stretch of Dorset coast on our doorstep.

Your skipper will guide you along the Jurassic Coast, sharing stories of the landscape, sea life and hidden corners of this beautiful stretch of the Purbecks. The journey lasts around an hour, so you’ll have plenty of time to take in the views, snap a few photos and enjoy the fresh sea air.

You’ll then head back to THE PIG-on the beach to freshen up before enjoying a pre-lunch Kitchen Garden cocktail, freshly muddled with Sapling – our house gin and vodka. Then it’s time to settle in at the Round House, overlooking the sea, and tuck into freshly baked pizzas from our outdoor Garden Oven with plentiful sides, generous pours of our very own THE PIG Cut wine and, of course, a proper pud to finish.

Handy to know…

To board the RIB, you will need to be able and comfortable getting into knee-deep, open water.

If you have any challenges with mobility, or have any questions about the experience, please contact reservations@thepighotel.com before booking.

If the great British weather is not on our side, the event will be cancelled for your safety.

What to bring with you

Comfortable shoes are a must and, while we hope the British weather will be on our side, the RIB ride can be very chilly, so we highly recommend wearing warm clothing that is suitable for all weather conditions… just in case! Remember, you will need to be able to get into open water that is knee-deep in order to board the RIB, so please wear something you don't mind getting wet.

We also recommend bringing a water bottle with you for the RIB adventure.

While we love your furry friends, please leave them at home for this experience.
