We are sorry you missed out! Sign up to stay in touch on our upcoming events.
We have always championed simple, fresh, and honest ingredients grown and cultivated by our hard-working teams in our Kitchen Gardens – and our bees have become a key feature, sipping summer nectar from our wildflower meadows across our grounds, pollinating across our patch, and our produce and providing the perfect essentials to our breakfast tables.
Our apiary has grown to over 80 hives across THE PIGs and, last year alone, we extracted more than 2,500 kilograms of raw, unpasteurised, and unprocessed delicious honey! So, join us this June with our buzzy, fuzzy friends and learn how to bring the sweet taste of THE PIG home.

Dive into the world of beekeeping at THE PIG-near Bath with our new, full-day workshop.
Run by our very own local bee expert Martin Knight, alongside our PIG team, this hands-on workshop is perfect for those who want to learn what all the buzz is about when it comes to our pollinator friends, bees – and taste the harvest from our very own fuzzy friends, who forage around our Somerset patch.

Join us in the morning for a hot drink and a freshly baked pastry to settle in and meet your fellow friendly beekeepers.
Throughout the day, Martin will guide you through the different types of honey and hive products (tasting a few as you go!), you’ll learn the basics of bee behaviour, discover how to open up a hive, as well as what to look for inside - plus so much more.
You’ll recharge in the afternoon with a relaxed two-course lunch of wood-fired pizzas and a proper PIG pudding (plus Piggy Bits to start, and fresh, hearty sides to follow!) All washed down with generous pours of our very own THE PIG Cut wine, and then take a trip down to our hives, where you'll have the chance to see the bees in action!
The day will wrap up with a refreshing glass of Applemint, and a final session on collecting honey, supporting pollinators, and how to get started with your own hive at home.

Meet your host
Over a decade ago Martin started keeping bees, all from the idea that local honey would help his daughter's hay fever... and yes, it does work! He decided that he would like to dig down into the world of bees, and learn more about these fuzzy little creatures!
Since the moment he opened his first hive, he was a-buzz with a newfound passion! Martin knew that he wanted to channel it into teaching others to learn all that he knew, and that's how Knights Beekeeping was born.
