Seven PIG People. Three days. One very big bike ride.

At THE PIG, people are at the heart of everything we do. Whether they're growing vegetables in the Kitchen Garden, welcoming you through the front door, cooking up something delicious in the kitchen or keeping everything running behind the scenes, it's our people who make THE PIG what it is.

This September, seven PIG People from across the business are swapping their day jobs for cycling jerseys as they take on a challenge that's well outside their comfort zones.

Our team includes people from the kitchen, front of house and maintenance, all coming together with one shared goal. They'll set off from THE PIG, in the New Forest before cycling more than 450km over three days, crossing the Channel and finishing at Maison Bollinger in France.

It's no gentle countryside pedal. There'll be long days in the saddle, plenty of climbs, tired legs and a lot of determination needed to reach the finish line. But every mile is being ridden for two charities that mean a great deal to our industry: Hospitality Action and The Drinks Trust.

For anyone who works in hospitality, looking after people comes naturally. These two charities do exactly that for the people behind our industry.

Hospitality Action provides vital financial, physical and mental wellbeing support to hospitality workers when they need it most, while The Drinks Trust offers welfare, wellbeing and career support to those working across the drinks industry. Together, they provide a helping hand to thousands of people every year, ensuring that those who spend their lives looking after others have somewhere to turn when they need support themselves.

Training is already underway, with early morning rides, weekend miles and a fair few aching muscles. While cycling over 450km isn't something any of the team do every day, they're taking on the challenge together, encouraging one another every step and pedal stroke of the way.

We're incredibly proud of everyone taking part and can't wait to follow their journey from the New Forest all the way to France.

Fancy cheering them on?

If you'd like to support the team, we'd be hugely grateful for a donation. Every contribution, whether it's the price of a morning coffee or something more, will help Hospitality Action and The Drinks Trust continue their invaluable work supporting the people at the heart of hospitality.

Thank you for helping us get the team to the finish line, and for supporting two charities that do so much for our industry.
