Foodie Thursdays in The Folly with the help of a few local friends… and maybe a famous face or two. Celebrating everything we love about our local countryside and coast. Enjoy a tipple, interesting chatter and a light grazing supper. Thursday is the new Friday after all!

What time? 7pm

How much? £35pp, to include welcome drink, talk/workshop and light grazing supper. The Folly bar will also be open throughout the evening.

Thursday 19th September - Kitchen Garden Gurus: Get growing for autumn and spring 
Our home-grown gurus talk seasonal growing. Whether you are total newbie or have the greenest of fingers there will be top tips for every gardening gang!
Supper: Kitchen Garden heroes and Piggy Bits

Thursday 26th September – Porkology – snout to tail 
Top to tail tips on cooking with the whole hog! We love our pigs, so we use as much of them as possible.
Supper: All the cuts and garden greens

Thursday 3rd October – Popping the cork on boutique winemaking (and a bit of tasting!) with Castlewood Vineyard
Hyper-local Castlewood Vineyard emerged on its south-facing Devon hillside between 2006 and 2009. By using only the ripest fruit from a few thousand vines Castlewood maintains its high quality. Owner Rob Corbett shares his stories over a glass or two of his exclusive sparkling wine!

Thursday 31st October – Kitchen Garden Gurus: No tricking pumpkin picking
Pumpkins are not just for Halloween! Straight out of our patch, we put pumpkins on the pedestal for the night to show you just how versatile and yummy they can be all autumn!

Thursday 21st November – ‘How to wrestle a crab’ with Mitch Tonks  

Celebrating our amazing local crab, caught off ‘England’s Seafood Coast’ along the South West. Seafood guru, Mitch Tonks, owner of Rockfish and The Seahorse gets claw cracking. 
Supper : Something fishy going on! Crab served three ways.

Thursday 5th December – Low ‘n’ slow – wood oven cooking with Pipers Farm

Heart-warming, perfect for gatherings and full of flavour – low ‘n’ slow cooking is made for winter feasts! Rearing grass fed Ruby Red cattle, Suffolk tup sheep, Saddleback pigs, properly free range chickens and ducks, Pipers Farm is a family-run, sustainable farm located just north of Exeter. Get all fired up with warming ideas from our chefs and founder Peter Greig.
Supper : Straight out of the Folly wood-oven. Meat and veggies for a dark December evening.
