Supper and Wine evenings at THE PIG-at Combe
Back for 2019, 3 new pop up family-style feasts held in our rustic Folly, tucked away in our gardens. Hosted by our Chef Director James Golding, Head Chef Dan Gavriilidis and Sommelier team.
You will be seated around one big table with the other guests and all food will be served to share, ‘family feast style'! The wine will be flowing, so if you plan to pull straws for designated driver, we suggest you book a taxi instead!
Thursday 25th July – Summer in the Kitchen Garden
Been & Gone
The Kitchen Garden is in full flourish in July so we will be celebrating home-grown produce at its most abundant. Start the evening with some Piggy Bits and a glass of English fizz followed by a tour of our walled kitchen gardens with our Head Kitchen Gardener Alex, who will take you through our philosophy and commitment to home grown and local produce.
James Golding, will then talk you through the menu for the evening, a 3-course summer garden supper with perfectly-paired wines from Castlewood Vineyard (just 8 miles from us!) Rob Corbett the owner and winemaker from Castlewood Vineyard will be on hand to lead you through his selection of wines, and will explore why it is such an exciting time to be making English wine.
Thursday 12th September – Charcuterie and Pickles with
‘A Pinch of Salt’

Our continental neighbours have been slicing saucisson and breaking bread with friends over breakfast, lunch and dinner for centuries!
Now Britain has its own distinctive, world-class charcuterie, with many producers priding themselves on providing the most natural surroundings for their animals which leads to great flavours and outstanding quality produce for your charcuterie platter.
James Golding will be joined by Alan Bartlett who owns ‘A Pinch of Salt’, a British Curing Company, to create menu that celebrates all things cured, smoked, dried and pickled. Wines will be handpicked by the Sommelier team at THE PIG-at Combe and a paired to each dish.
You will kick start the evening with a glass of something fizzy and some Piggy Bits, followed by your sharing supper.
Thursday 14th November – Game Supper
The Glorious Twelfth is long past and partridge season is in full swing, so on this very seasonal evening we will be celebrating the countryside and all the variety that game came bring to our menus.
Starting the evening with some Piggy Bits and a pre-dinner tipple, James Golding, will then talk you through the menu, a 3-course game-inspired supper with perfectly-paired wines from Sommelier team.
We will be joined by Justin Lascelles, Estate Manager from our neighbouring Combe Estate, will then talk you through a day in the life of a game keeper. With over thirty named drives made up of semi-ancient natural woodland supplemented by some game cover, the shoot is renowned for offering challenging birds for even the most accomplished of game shots.
All 3 Supper and Wine evenings:
Arrival 7pm, for 7.30pm sit down £80 per person to include fizz and Piggy Bits, 3-course supper and wine pairing.
