The brainchild of Fred Sirieix, National Waiters Day is a day to celebrate the excellence, dedication, discipline and pride of all front of house staff working within the hospitality industry here in the UK. With many different events happening across the country, the aim is to change peoples perception of a Front of House career in the hospitality industry.
“A day to celebrate all Front of House staff and inspire people about careers in the Hospitality industry” - Fred Sirieix, Founder of National Waiters Day
So the big day had arrived, Thursday 25th September, National Waiters Day and the infamous Waiters Race. Unfortunately, we couldn't send all our Bath Piglets to Hyde park, so Sarah organised pre-race heats on August 20th, with the winning team set to represent THE PIG in London.
THE PIG dream team consisted of:
- Steff Jones
- Darryl Harris
- Daisy Barton
- Lauren Howarth
- Katie Liddle
- Ben Dunne
The race was a run through Hyde Park, the objective is to keep a glass and bottle of water on a tray all the way to the finish line. The winner is the waiter who crosses the finishing line first with tray and contents still in tact.
A great day was had by all, our piglets did us proud. Head on over to our Facebook page for more pictures from the day.
