We were recently visited by the lovely Ladies Who Lunch - here's a snippet of what they had to say:
Entering the deli café was a step back in time - I was reminded of Grandma’s days – it looks charming with its cosy seating and décor from the past. So much to look at and such a homely feel; if you enjoy antiquity it’s well worth a visit for coffee, a glass of wine and a selection of their tasty bites which is exactly what we three ladies did!
Whilst we sipped our G&T's from the Piggy Bites we selected Lomo & olives, Coppa with pickled carrot & capers and Pork scratchings with apple sauce, £3.50 each. We were grateful to Beth who helped us with our choices; in fact all the staff we encountered were charming and very well trained. Knowledgeable and friendly staff make such a difference to a dining experience!
Then came more choices, Garlic & Thyme sausage roll served with green salad, Beetroot, pear & goats cheese quiche, Smoked Glenarm Salmon with capers, watercress & sourdough, the Hampshire charcuterie with pickles and chutney. I would have expected some gently smoked Ham but I know they are often changing their menu, so maybe next time. These boards range from £4.50 - £8.00. We also chose salad dishes at £2.50, Fennel & celeriac, Fine green beans with shallots, almonds & truffle oil, and Garlic & herb new potatoes. We had so much we wish we’d had a slightly larger table to accommodate everything! We enjoyed the combinations of flavour and the attractive presentation.
