Occasionally we have last-minute availability during the week and at weekends… why not pack up for an impromptu trip away?
Really a restaurant with rooms, we have an obsessive commitment to home-grown and local produce. What we can’t grow or rear ourselves, we source from the surrounding Sussex area, creating our 25-mile menu. Get away from it all with sink-in sofas, miles of countryside and coast to explore, locally-sourced suppers, Kitchen Garden wanderings, relaxing VOYA treatments in our rustic Potting Sheds and beds so cosy you won't want to leave!
Each PIG has its own unique identity and staying with us in the South Downs is no different. You’re right in the heart of it over here, with no short of things to do, surrounded by miles of unspoiled countryside, just four miles from the beautiful, ancient market town of Arundel with its medieval Castle and meandering streets, a short drive to the stunning Sussex coastline, and plenty of vineyards to pay a visit to!

THE PIG welcomes well-behaved dogs to stay in a small number of rooms across most of our hotels, excluding THE PIG-in the wall and THE PIG-on the beach*. We kindly ask owners to help us respect the sensitivities of all our guests and staff by asking you to follow our Dog House Rules to avoid ending up in the doghouse! We do not permit dogs inside the restaurants, although they are welcome to join you on a stroll around the grounds or for outdoor dining when our terraces are open. Please note at THE PIG-in the wall we only permit guide dogs into the property.
Children are more than welcome at THE PIG-in the South Downs, both in the restaurant and to stay. At THE PIG-in the South Downs we have adjoining double and twin rooms.
We’ll never tell you what to wear. Our restaurant at THE PIG-in the South Downs is informal and relaxed, so come in whatever makes you happy and comfortable.
Breakfast: Available for residents from 7am-10am Monday to Sunday.
Lunch: 12pm-2.30pm Monday to Friday, 12pm-3pm Saturday and Sunday.
Dinner: 6pm-9.30pm Monday to Friday, 6pm-9.45pm Saturday and Sunday.
Outdoor eating: Outdoor eating on the restaurant terrace at THE PIG-in the South Downs is on a first-come first-served basis, weather dependent for restaurant guests only. If you would like to dine outdoors we advise booking a table during our first lunch sittings at 12 – 12.30 to secure a place in the sun. Please note the restaurant terrace is not bookable.

We offer monetary vouchers, as well as lunch, dinner and treatment vouchers. These can be purchased here.
Please kindly note that you are unable to redeem a gift voucher online to make a booking. Please book your room as normal and the team will refund any pre-payments with proof of your voucher. Please just contact reservations@thepighotel.com

Unless we are running a special deal and it is stated within the terms, all of our rates are on a room only basis so are inclusive of VAT only.
Breakfast is served in the restaurant at THE PIG-in the South Downs where you can choose to either dig into our PIG grazing breakfast tables or pick something hot from our breakfast menus. Prices range from £17.95-£22.95.
You can check in from 3pm at THE PIG-in the South Downs, however, you’re more than welcome to arrive earlier to drop off your luggage and explore the gardens.
Check out is by 11am. We ask that you leave your room by this time, but please enjoy the surroundings all day. We can’t guarantee an early check-in or late check-out, but stick around and let us know your plans and we will try our best on the day.

Please note our rates stated are at a starting from price at THE PIG-in the South Downs, and fluctuate throughout the year depending on season. We sometimes run offers and Late Pig Room Rates.
We currently have eight 7KW Pod Point electrical charging points for vehicles at THE PIG-in the South Downs if you require charging during your visit. You will need to use the POD Point App to access the charger, and will be charged 75p per kWh of charge; overnight charging is required for full charge. Charging will require use of the Pod Point app and a registered account - this can be found at https://pod-point.com/products/driver/app. These POD charging points are fully compatible with all electric cars but please note you must bring your own charging lead. Once your car is fully charged we ask you move it to a regular parking space.
