Annie Dressner

Recently moving from her hometown of New York City to the UK, singer-songwriter, Annie Dressner is about to release her newest work - an EP titled "East Twenties" (release date: April 8, 2013). Dressner's poignant songs are delivered with such conversational ease, it often seems as if she is reading from an intimate letter or a book, set to music. Her straightforward lyrical style, sharp ear for wordplay and crisp, lilting vocals offer listeners a front-row seat to her stories, as they take shape above the understated music.

The Slow Show

If you can imagine the most warm and organic sound you've ever heard, then imagine that the same sound is a huge worshipper of America's folk alt religion and, at some point, glided across the floor of a Northern cotton mill, then you've got 'The Slow Show' in one. Or, if a little easier, Manchester's most un-Manchester like five piece

Shake Tiger Shake

Described by BBC6 Music as "a Glorious Sound", Shake Tiger Shake are pop magpies who create music that is inspired by the best synths and beats from the 80s, grooves from 70s disco, and twists it all with a contemporary sensibility. If Fleetwood Mac met Prince, [Metronomy], and [Aluna George] at Studio 54, this is what it would sound like.

The Real Tuesday Weld

After a series of low key single and EP releases on British, US and Japanese independent labels our first full-length release When Cupid Meets Psyche (2001) was acclaimed as: “a warm and welcoming arty gypsy knees-up, a psychedelic bossa with the polite reeds of a ’30s dance band crushed by booming hip-hop bass…” (Q Magazine) and was an album of the week in the Sunday Times.

Michele Stodart

Alongside touring the world, releasing albums with double platinum sellers The Magic Numbers and becoming a mother, Michele has stolen every chance she could get to take her songs into the studio. Written and produced by Michele, with a helping hand from engineer Phil Brown (Talk Talk, Beth Gibbons, Joni Mitchell), ‘Wide-Eyed Crossing’ dishes up a veritable banquet of delicacies on a debut that owes as much to the strum of the acoustic guitar as it does to the richness of the jazz vocal, noted particularly on track 'O Heart of Mine'.

Recorded with Paul Leavitt (who has worked with artists like All Time Low, The Dangerous Summer, I Call Fives etc.) “Arrows” combines pop-rock sensibility with the raw power of punk with an outcome that has a fresh new sound that is exactly what this genre has been waiting for. Josephine

Manchester’s soulful chanteuse, Josephine, has created a self-reflective debut album which illustrates the many different sides of a fascinating character. Vocally, her prowess recalls ‘the Queen of gospel’, Mahalia Jackson’s distinctive contralto, yet behind the powerful delivery is a husky undercurrent making every replaying seem like a personal performance. This compelling delivery commands attention completely, on a record replete with a vibrant array of musical genres.
